Lake Shore Music Studio Director Julie Lovison is a frequent speaker on topics related to introducing piano students to basic music concepts and offers regular seminars and workshops for piano teachers interested in learning to incorporate comprehensive musicianship and group piano teaching into their curriculum. She also offers a training session on "Piano Keyboard Oriented Music Games and Improvisation." Her session entitled "One Stop Shopping With Brother John - How to explore 35 music concepts using the tune Frere Jacques" has been popular with various music teacher groups and at state conferences. Julie Lovison did graduate study with Dr. Robert Pace at Columbia University and has continued over the years to attend "refresher" courses presented by him as well as other notable piano pedagogy educators. She has assisted Lee Roberts Music Publications by being on hand to review Pace Method materials with interested teachers at numerous Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) conferences. Julie is a consultant to and board member of The International Piano Teaching Foundation which promotes the virtues of group piano instruction and comprehensive musicianship.
